The Fr. Darin Didier Memorial Scholarship.  These scholarships are available for high school seniors who are members of Holy Spirit Parish.

Fr. Didier, 32, died September 6, 2005 following a lengthy struggle with cancer.  His ordination Mass had been celebrated only three months earlier, June 4, at the Cathedral of St. Mary’s in Fargo.  

Fr. Didier served Holy Spirit Parish as our assistant pastor during the months before his death.  We lost a great priest, but heaven has gained a great intercessor for us.

In an article Father Didier wrote while he was a seminarian, after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, he expressed the value of suffering:

“God order all things in his Divine Providence to help us to know

and to accept His great love for us.  His Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ,

showed perfect humility by becoming man and accepting an agonizing

death as part of God’s plan for our salvation.  God loved His Son from

all eternity.  Should we want to be treated any different than the Son

of God, who was faced with the challenge of the cross as part of God’s

providence?  Jesus said, ‘If any man will come after me, let him deny

himself and take up his cross daily and follow me’” (Luke 9:23).
